"Helping You In Your Spiral Efforts"

  • Q: How long does it take to install a spiral staircase?

A: Our kits take approximately 6-8 hours to install and you should have a helper. Our all-welded one piece metal stairs can be installed in about 15 minutes after unloading off the truck.

  • Q: Why are the riser heights higher than those on straight stairs?

A: A code compliant spiral needs to "get out of its own way" as you climb it or you will hit your head. Another way to look at it is that on the 9th tread descending, you need 78 inches of headroom, and after allowing for the platform thickness, the only way to accomplish that is with a riser height of 8.5 to 9.5 inches.

  • Q: How long does it take to get a stair once ordered?

A: About 3 weeks, longer for larger and more customized spirals. Curved stairs usually take about 4 weeks longer.

  • Q: What type of finishes do you offer?

A: One-coat of shop primer is standard, we also offer powder-coating and galvanizing

  • Q: I need to have drawings and P.E. stamp, HELP!

A: We offer the services of our professional C. A.D. designer and we can often get drawings to you for approval within 2-3 weeks after we receive your deposit. We can get any project stamped and approved in all 50 states.

  • Q: How do I attach my wood covers to my metal stair tread?

A: If you have smooth style or inverted treads, apply a high quality adhesive that is designed for metal to wood. There are many good ones available at your local building supply. Clamp the cover to the tread and leave until cured.

  • Q: What is the smallest Spiral Stair you can make?

A: We offer a 40 inch diameter stair as the biggest space saver unit in our product line. A 40 inch diameter provides the user with a viable walkway from floor to floor.

The upside of this small of a diameter is that it will fit into a clear footprint of 44 inches by 44 inches. The downside is that it restricts the ability to carry objects up and down the stair easily for larger individuals and permits only one way traffic.

  • Q: What is the largest Spiral Stair you can make?

A: We offer a standard jumbo 78 inch diameter stair as the largest diameter produced. We offer larger custom sizes to fit all needs.

The upside of this large of a diameter is that it will easily allow larger individuals to transverse the unit without feeling cramped.
